Ted Cruz Has Sold Out the Liberty Movement Time After Time Again
by Lee Enochs
“For the best government is the least amount of government”
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is a sell out and is certainly not a liberty conservative. He proved that again this week when he missed Senator Rand Paul’s “Audit the Fed” bill, choosing to campaign in New Hampshire rather than stand with Senator Paul and liberty conservatives on a bill that is absolutely critical to our movement.
This is shocking, because it was Ted Cruz that sponsored the “Audit the Fed” bill in the first place!
This is not the first time Ted Cruz has sold out the liberty movement by his absence for a critical vote. Cruz missed the critical vote on Loretta Lynch as well.
Liberty Conservatives also must understand that while Cruz professes to be “libertarian-minded,” he is anything but as his vote to continue the Patriot Act conclusively demonstrates.
Senator Cruz has been a no-show far too many times as Politico recently pointed out:
He’s skipped the vast majority of Armed Services Committee hearings, is below-average in attendance on his other major committees and ranks 97th during the first three months of this year in showing up for roll call votes on the Senate floor.
The good people of Texas voted Ted Cruz into office to do a job, not to miss critical votes in the Senate body he was elected to.
