Lee Enochs believes that the current political situation in America can tell you that our political system is broken.
Recent polling shows that the vast majority of Americans have a radically low opinion of what is currently transpiring in Washington and the approval ratings of Congress is tragically at an all-time low.
What Congress actually does puzzles many of us. While Congress spends and appropriates billions of our hard earned money on their alleged new legislation, nothing seems to get done each and every year.
When Congress and our ineffectual President do act, it is always in their own interests and contrary to our personal freedom and civil liberties. While the national debt now rests at close to $19 trillion dollars, America is none the better in proportion to the vast sums of money being spent.
The resultant effect of this dismal performance of our elected officials has meant disastrous ruin for our country as a whole. Our economy is weak, illegal immigration is a major national problem and our city streets are spiraling out of control with murder and violence.
How did this happen? What caused this disastrous political climate in America and what can be done to rectify it?
Since the enactment of the New Deal legislation and Great Society legislation of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson, many Americans have looked to the federal government to meet their basic needs.
Instead of being weaned off government assistance and entitlements, progressive social reforms and legislation has created life-long servitude and dependence on government assistance.
This wholesale dependency upon government has given rise to the monstrosity that is present day Washington.
It is now almost impossible for real change to occur in our highest echelon of government because those being enriched by tax payer money do not want to change the system or relinquish power to those who truly want to fix our broken political and economic system.
The kings and power brokers of Washington want to ride this gravy train and vicious cycle as long as they can and will attempt with great vehemence to thwart any real change.
