Has Sarah Palin Lost Her Mind? (Not that She Had Much of One in the First Place)

Almost a week has passed since Senator Ted Cruz suspended his Presidential campaign after his devastating loss to Donald Trump in the Indiana primary.
Since then, all hell has broken loose in the Republican Party as Speaker of the House Paul Ryan dramatically proclaimed late last week that he was not ready just yet to support Donald Trump’s presidential bid.
I’m just not ready to do that at this point. I’m not there right now,” Ryan boldly proclaimed on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” in an interview.
Despite considerable criticism leveled against him for not immediately supporting Trump, Paul Ryan has the Constitutional mandate as Speaker of the House to set the agenda for his party in Congress.
The Speaker of the House is the presiding officer of the United States House of Representatives. The office was established in 1789 by Article I, Section 2 of the United States Constitution, which states in part, “The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker.”
Yet, not every Republican in America is happy with Paul Ryan right now. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says she will now work to defeat the House Speaker in the Republican primaries for daring to stand up against Donald Trump.
“His political career is over but for a miracle because he has so disrespected the will of the people, and as the leader of the GOP, the convention, certainly he is to remain neutral, and for him to already come out and say who he will not support is not a wise decision of his,” Palin in a fit of abject hysteria, said.
Paul Ryan’s proclamation that he was not ready to endorse Trump and the fact that several party elders including George W. Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney have vowed to skip the GOP Convention in July and not vote for Trump for President.
Palin outrageously speculated, without a shred of evidence, that Paul Ryan’s announcement on Trump was motivated by personal aspirations to seek the White House in 2020.
Sarah Palin has been allowed to roam on the periphery of American conservatism without accountability for far too long. I personally wonder if she has lost her mind. Not that prudence and sound thinking were strong suit in the first place.
I personally believe Sarah Palin has a screw loose and needs to just shut her mouth. Paul Ryan is completely within his rights and responsibilities as House Speaker to question the legitimacy of Donald Trump as the titular head of the Republican Party.
Mr. Trump has caused much damage with his savage attacks on countless individuals including sitting U.S. Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. It must be remembered that just last week, Mr. Trump spitefully and with much vitriol, announced to the world that he believed that Senator Cruz’s father was involved in communist literature distribution with JFK’s assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.
No, Mrs. Palin, you are wrong. It is you that needs to just go away.
